If you wore black t-shirts, ripped-up jeans, or had long hair and listened to metal/punk music in the 90s, sometimes you got harassed. And sometimes you got put away for 18 years on false murder charges.
Rise Against's song " Hero Of War " was inspired by tragic and unethical events happening in Iraq at the hands of wayward soldiers. Unfortunately, these events are continuing to unfold and have spread to Afghanistan. The message behind "Hero Of War" has unfortunately become just as important now as it was then. Saddened but emboldened by reports like this, we continue to draw attention to this grave problem in the American military and our presence in Afghanistan and Iraq.
